The Rt Hon Tobias Ellwood is a former British Army Officer, senior UK parliamentarian and now writer and commentator on national security and foreign policy issues.

As a former Foreign Office Minister for the Middle East, Defence Minister and Chair of the House of Commons Defence Committee, he has been at the forefront in helping shape and critique UK foreign and security policy in ever increasing turbulent times.

As Chair of the House of Commons Defence Select Committee (2019-23), he led the Committee on dozens of domestic and international visits and published a number of reports covering future global threats, defence procurement, the advance of grey zone warfare, Ukraine and the Middle East.

Prior to his parliamentary career, Tobias served in the British Army with the Royal Green Jackets (and is a current Reservist) and worked at the London Stock Exchange and Allen and Overy as a Business Development Manager.
