Bernardino León was director of the Diplomatic Academy of the United Arab Emirates, president of the NGO Plan International and senior advisor of Brunswick Group. He has been Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Secretary General of the Presidency of the Government, Special Representative of the European Union in the Southern Mediterranean following the Arab Spring, and Special Representative and UN mediator in Libya.
